Folklore.

I have been working on things in small bursts. The first is a progress shot of a piece based on the idea of a woman who became lost and died in a vast forrest and now lures victims to the same fate. 

It's been an interesting process working in watercolor on a  larger format. This one is about 18" x 24."

This second piece I actually started almost a year ago and have now finally been able 

to begin painting on it again. Lots of masking to do... and I hate masking.

It's actually based off a Goya painting, "St. Francis Borgia Exorcising," by Francisco Goya, 1788.

Something from the sketchbook.

I recently finished reading the book, "Summer of the Ubume," by Natsuhiko Kyogoku. These sketches are inspired by the story. Except the floating beard-head... I'm really not sure where that came from.

collecting hair to add to his glorious mustache. 

Haunted

"Winter in Chernobyl," watercolor on paper.

This piece I did after watching a show about searching for ghosts in Chernobyl 23 years after the disaster. It's so haunting there. Everything left in place.

Little Bits.

This is the first post here and I hope to continue. Mostly updates on pieces and art business.

I'll even attempt to write things of interest, even if they only interest me.

The first here is a progress shot of 2 small watercolors I am working on.

On the left, "Soothsayer" and on the right, "Flight of the Mustache Monster." Although, now that I think of it, I might re-name them.
